This Project Self-Audit enables you to take a quick look at essential project performance areas for a specified project. When completed, please press the SUBMIT button below. We'll examine the project indicators you provided, and you'll receive our review comments via email.

2-1: The project customer is identified and is known by the project manager (for some projects, a customer market may be identified)?
2-2: The project customer is identified and is known by project team members (for some projects, a customer market may be identified)?
2-3: The project manager personally "meets" with the customer (in person, or by phone, as appropriate) at sufficient regular intervals (at least monthly, or as otherwise required)?
2-4: The project manager (or project organization) provides project progress and status reports to the customer at sufficient regular intervals (at least monthly, or as otherwise required)?
2-5: The project customer is iactively involved in the project's change management process, and in major project decisions?
2-6: The project customer has specified and provided a Project Requirements Document, or has "signed-off" on the requirements document in use?
2-7: A project Customer Contract or Customer Agreement has been established (including for internal customers)?
3-Project Planning Conditions
3-1: A Project Definition Document has been prepared by the project organization to specify project objectives and scope?
3-2: Project Assumptions and Constraints have been deliberated and identified (and may be a part of the Project Definition Document)?
3-3: A Project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is constructed to delineate project work (and to help determine the task schedule)?
3-4: A Project Workplan exists? (A Workplan is the Project WBS with cost, time, and resources specified for each WBS work element at the "work package" level -- i.e., Budget, Schedule, and Staffing)
3-5: Project risks have been evaluated, and a Risk Response (Mitigation) Plan has been prepared for the project?
3-6: A Quality Management Plan has been prepared? (This includes addressing quality control, quality assurance, and testing and validation activities, as required by the project)
3-7: A Project Change Control Plan is prepared? (This includes steps for customer collaboration and processes for change identification, evaluation, approval and implementation)
3-8: Project Deliverables and Deliverable Acceptance Criteria are identified and documented in collaboration with the customer? (This information may be included in the Quality Management Plan, Project Definition Document, or other separate project planning document)
4-Project Staffing Conditions
4-1: A Project Staff Management Plan is prepared?
4-2: A Project Resource Responsibility Matrix is constructed to show staffing requirements? (This may be a part of the Staff Management Plan)
4-3: Staffing assignments (qualified individuals, by name) have been made to adequately satisfy project staffing requirements prescribed by the Resource Responsibility Matrix (or other staffing requirements plan)
4-4: Project work performance (by project team members) reflects minimal to no adverse impacts on the project?
5-Project Performance Conditions
5-1: Project Progress Reports from project team members to the project manager are reliable (accurate) and timely (at least monthly)?
5-2: Project Status Reports from the project manager to the customer and to management are reliable (accurate) and timely (at least monthly)?
5-3: The Project Manager routinely (at least monthly) prepares Earned Value Analyses or comparable project performance reports for cost (Budget) evaluation?
5-4: The Project Manager routinely (at least monthly) prepares Earned Value Analyses or comparable project performance reports for time (Schedule) evaluation?
5-5: The Project Manager routinely (at least monthly) analyses and reports planned vs. actual Resource Utilization
5-6: The Project Manager routinely (at least monthly) analyzes Project Variance in areas of cost, schedule, and resource utilization, and applies control action when variances exceed established criteria or otherwise threaten the project outcome?
5-7: The Project Manager (or Technical Lead) monitors progress and approves all project deliverables conveyed to the customer?
6-Project Vendor Conditions
