The ProjectPRISM™ project management methodology requires proper implementation and use within the organization to achieve maximum benefits and effectiveness. The following implementation activities are highly recommended:
Management Support- It is essential that management support be demonstrated early in the implementation process, for establishing a methodology use policy, promoting implementation activities, and encouraging individual users.
Project Transition Planning- A plan is needed to specify how current and future projects will transition to the new methodology. This plan will identify the project transition criteria, and specify the project transition schedule.
Methodology Training- Methodology users need training in the new approach to project management. This includes executives, team members, and project managers. Follow-on mentoring might also be appropriate for larger user groups.
Feedback and Evaluation- It is important for new methodology users to have an outlet to present issues and concerns. A user feedback mechanism is needed, and a post-implementation evaluation will permit early practice adjustments.
